Troubleshooting Access to Coaching Products and Private Spaces

What to check when a 1:1 coaching client or Private Space member can't see lessons, videos, or booking availability.

Written by Jennifer Barcelos

Who this is for: teachers whose 1:1 coaching client or Private Space member can't see lessons, videos, or booking availability.

1. Check the access window ("Number of days available after purchase")

Open the product and go to the Product schedule tab. If the Number of days available after purchase field has a value, students lose access that many days after their purchase, even though they still appear on your customer list. If a longtime client suddenly can't see content, this is the most common cause: their access window has ended.

A few things to know about this field:

  • It only appears for evergreen products with one-time pricing. Products with recurring (subscription) pricing don't use it: access lasts as long as the subscription is active.

  • Leaving it blank is not possible while it's visible; the highest value it accepts is 9999 days (about 27 years), which is the closest thing to "forever."

  • If a student's window has ended, extend the number of days, or re-enroll them.

2. Know which product type you're using

Your product's type is shown right under its name on the product page. A Private Space and a 1:1 Coaching product (labeled "Private Coaching" on the product page) look similar but behave differently: 1:1 Coaching includes private session booking. "Free" is not a product type; it's a pricing option, so check both the type label and the pricing tab before troubleshooting.

3. Send students the right link

Links copied from your teacher view (like your product editor URL) won't work for students. Students see coaching content on their own dashboard after logging in with their purchase email. To send one directly: go to Customers, open the student, and click Send login link at the top of their profile. You'll see "Login link successfully sent." when it goes out.

4. Booking availability shows zero sessions

For 1:1 Coaching products using Marvelous scheduling, sessions only appear when the schedule is fully set up. Check that:

  • Internal scheduling is turned on for the product (if you use an external scheduler like Calendly, slots won't show inside Marvelous).

  • Your availability days and time windows are set, with each day you offer toggled on.

  • A session duration is set.

Separately, if the product includes a set number of sessions and the student has used them all, booking is declined with "You have no private sessions left." Increase the included sessions or have them purchase again.

5. Student appears to have access but still sees a lock

Have them log out and back in, clear browser cache and cookies, or try an incognito window before contacting us.
