Creating a Zap

1. Log in to your Zapier account and click on Create a Zap on the right-hand side.

2. Type in the name of your Zap on the top left side.

3. Search for Marvelous in the box and select it.

4. Then select a trigger in the Trigger Event drop-down. In this case, we will use Student Updated, then click Continue.

5. Click Sign in to Marvelous.

Paste the API key that you copied from Hey Marvelous > Settings > Integrations > Zapier. Click Yes, Continue afterward.

If you weren't able to copy your API key, just click on Integration Settings. It will take you to your Hey Marvelous Zapier page.

Lastly, click on Continue.

6. Click on Test Trigger to proceed. If you don't have a student yet, just click on Skip.

7. Click on Continue and you're done with the first part.

8. Choose an app that you'd like to connect. In this scenario we will use Google Sheets. You can also use the search box to find the app you'd like to connect to your Hey Marvelous account.

9. Next we need to choose an Action Event. Choose Create Spreadsheet Row from the drop-down then Continue.

10. Click Sign in to Google Sheets.

Select the Google Account you'll be linking to your Hey Marvelous account.

Make sure to click on Allow then hit Continue.

11. Under Drive select My Google Drive.

Then select the spreadsheet you'd like to add the data to.

Then select the sheet.

Match fields to the right columns or header row in your Google Sheet by clicking the drop-down and selecting the correct field. Click Continue.

12. Click Test and Continue.

Then verify that the information shown in the result matches what's in your spreadsheet.

13. Finally click on Turn on Zap.

Final Testing

1. Switch to student view by click on View as Student in your Hey Marvelous Account.

2. Click on your name on the top right then select My account.

3. Click Edit contact information.

4. Then try editing your first and last name then save the changes.

5. Your spreadsheet should now reflect the change as well.

This Zap will also capture the student's first and last names as well as email addresses when they sign up to your studio.
