How to Cancel a PayPal Subscription

Step-by-step instructions for students to cancel a recurring PayPal subscription, including what to do if you can't log into PayPal.

If your teacher or coach uses PayPal as their payment processor, you'll need to cancel the recurring payment directly through your PayPal account. Marvelous is unable to cancel PayPal subscriptions on your behalf — this is a PayPal policy that applies to all third-party platforms.

Step 1 — Cancel in Marvelous first

Before going to PayPal, cancel your subscription inside Marvelous. Log in to your account, click your name in the top right corner, select "My Settings", and click "Cancel" next to the subscription you'd like to stop.

After you cancel in Marvelous, a pop-up will remind you that you also need to stop the recurring payment in PayPal. If you skip this step, PayPal may continue charging you.

Step 2 — Stop the automatic payment in PayPal

Quickest method: Go directly to paypal.com/myaccount/autopay and log in. This takes you straight to your automatic payments page.

Or follow these steps:

  1. Go to paypal.com and log in to your account.

  2. Click the gear icon (⚙️) in the top right corner to open Settings.

  3. Click "Payments" in the settings menu.

  4. Click "Manage automatic payments" (you may also see this labeled "Manage pre-approved payments").

  5. Find and click on the teacher or studio name in the list of merchants.

  6. Click "Cancel" or "Cancel automatic payment."

  7. Confirm the cancellation when prompted.

On the PayPal mobile app: Open the app → tap the Menu icon (three lines) → tap "Subscriptions" or "Linked Businesses" → tap the merchant → select "Stop Paying with PayPal" → tap "Unlink" to confirm.

Can't log into PayPal?

If you created a PayPal account specifically to join a membership and don't remember your login details, here's what to do:

  1. Go to PayPal's password reset page and enter the email address you used when you signed up for the membership.

  2. Follow the prompts to reset your password and regain access.

  3. Once logged in, follow the steps above to cancel the automatic payment.

If you're still unable to access your PayPal account, you can contact PayPal Support directly for help with account recovery.

Important notes

• Canceling in Marvelous alone does not stop PayPal from charging you. You must also cancel in PayPal.

• Once you cancel the automatic payment in PayPal, you'll keep access to your content until the end of your current billing period.
