What is Mobile Marvelous?

Mobile Marvelous is a Progressive Web App (PWA) — a way for your students to add a shortcut to your Marvelous site directly to their phone's home screen, with your studio's app icon. When they tap it, your studio opens in a full-screen browser view that feels app-like.

Important: Mobile Marvelous is not a native iOS or Android app — it's not in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Students install it directly through their mobile browser using the steps below.

Mobile Marvelous allows you to add the mobile version of Marvelous to your home screen on iOS and Android devices. This is for student view only.

Personalizing your Mobile Marvelous studio app icon

  1. Go to Settings, then click Branding.

  2. Scroll down, and you'll see a section that says Upload app icon.

  3. Click Upload and choose where you want to upload your app icon from.

  4. Once uploaded click Save in the top right-hand corner.

How your students access your Marvelous site on Mobile Marvelous

When your students visit your Marvelous site via either the Safari mobile browser on an iOS device or Google Chrome on an Android device, they will see a pop-up at the bottom of the screen with your app icon.

Instructions for Android Devices

  1. Tap Add to homescreen.
    ​

  2. A pop-up will appear asking to Install the app, tap Install.
    ​

  3. When you return to your mobile home screen, your app icon will be there.

  4. To access your Marvelous site, tap on the icon.

Instructions for iOS Devices

  1. Tap Add to homescreen.
    ​

  2. A pop-up will appear with the following instructions on how to add the application to your homescreen:

    1. Tap the Share icon at the bottom of your screen:
      ​

    2. Scroll down until you see Add to Home Screen.
      ​

    3. Tap Add.
      ​

  3. When you return to your mobile home screen, your app icon will be there.

  4. To access your Marvelous site as a student, tap on the icon.
