This article covers:

With Google Workspace's SMTP service, you can trust that your emails are both secure and reliable.

If you're new to the world of SMTP or already an administrator for a Google Workspace domain, this is the perfect starting point.

A paid account such as name@mybusiness.com will grant you up to 2,000 emails daily; however if you want more – domain administrators who opt for the SMTP relay feature get 10,000 emails every day.

Note: If you do not have a paid Google Workspace account, you can sign up for one here.

Setting up a SMTP Relay Service

  1. On the left side menu select Apps > Google Workspace > Gmail.

  2. Scroll down to Routing (last item on the right side of the screen)

  3. Then select SMTP Relay Service (the 6th option from the top). Name your SMTP relay service and configure it like this:

  4. Go to Security and then Less secure apps. Select "Allow user to manage their access to less secure apps" and then click Save.

Note: Changes can take up to 24 hours.

Connecting Your Google Workspace SMTP to Marvelous

  1. Go to https://myaccount.google.com/ and then to Security in the left-hand navigation bar. At the bottom find "Less secure app access":

Note: If you do not see Less secure app access - you need to disable 2FA or 2 Factor Authentication and set up an app password.

  2. Click into it and turn it ON.

Important note: Make sure you are still in logged into your business account, and that 2-factor authentication is switched off, otherwise this option will not display.

  3. Open up Security again and click Overview.

  4. Click Less secure apps and select Allow users to manage their access to less secure apps. Then click Save.

  5. Go to https://myaccount.google.com/lesssecureapps?pli=1 and make sure that the account that you're connecting to Marvelous also has Less Secure apps enabled or set to Allow.

  6. Then you can go to your Marvelous SMTP settings and complete the required details:

    1. From name and email address: Your sender details

    2. Server: smtp.gmail.com

    3. Port: 587

    4. Account username and password: Your Google Workspace login credentials

    5. Email Security: TLS
