Why Can't My Students See My Event, Class, or Product?

A diagnostic checklist for when students can't see something they should be able to access.

If a student tells you they can't see an event on the calendar, a class they should have access to, or a product in your shop, this article walks through the most common reasons — in order of likelihood.

1. Is the product published?

Drafts aren't visible to students. Go to Products → My Products and check the status of the product. If it shows "Draft," click into it and publish.

2. Is "Show in Shop" toggled on?

Even a published product won't appear in your shop if "Show in Shop" is off. Open the product → Summary tab → confirm Show in Shop is on. (If you want a hidden product accessible only by direct link, this is fine — but students browsing your shop won't find it.)

3. Has the student purchased the right product?

Events live inside products. If the student hasn't purchased (or been added to) the product containing the event, they won't see the event on their calendar. Go to Customers, find the student, and check what they're enrolled in.

4. Is the content on a drip release schedule?

Courses with drip content only release lessons on the schedule you set. Day 7 won't be visible until day 7 arrives. See Delaying Release of Content for how to check or adjust the schedule.

5. Has the student's payment failed?

If a recurring payment failed, Marvelous revokes access automatically. Go to Customers, find the student, and check their subscription status. They may need to update their card.

6. Are you viewing as a teacher when you should be viewing as a student?

When logged in as a teacher, you see a different view than your students do. To check what students actually see:

  • Open your shop in Chrome's Incognito or Safari's Private Browsing mode, or

  • Log out and view your studio link as if you were a new student

7. Is the event in the past, cancelled, or removed?

Past events drop off the student's upcoming calendar view. Cancelled events show with a strikethrough. Removed events disappear entirely. See Cancelling, Rescheduling, or Removing an Event.

8. Try a hard refresh

Sometimes the student's browser caches an older view. Have them log out, clear their browser cache (or open Incognito), and log back in.
